Bright, juicy and immediately charming, ‘Les Granges’ is Baudry’s most easygoing Chinon, designed to show Cabernet Franc at its freshest and most drinkable. It opens with crunchy red cherry, raspberry and cranberry, lifted by violet, fresh herbs and a subtle peppery note. The palate is light to medium-bodied, silky and energetic, with gentle tannins, vivid acidity and a clean mineral thread that keeps everything lively. There’s purity in the fruit here, but with just enough savoury Loire character to make it unmistakably Chinon.
Made from organically farmed Cabernet Franc grown on gravelly alluvial soils near the Vienne River, ‘Les Granges’ is fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement vats and aged briefly in cement to preserve freshness, fruit purity and immediacy. It’s the least extracted and most accessible red in the Baudry range, made for early drinking and ideal with a slight chill.
