This Pilsner is bright and citrusy and showcases Nelson Sauvin hops that are harvested using a new method called the ‘Bliss Process’ – let us expand on that:

New Zealand’s Nelson Sauvin hops are prized for their tropical fruit and white wine aromatics. Using traditional harvest methods, an earlier harvest promotes the wine characteristics at the expense of the tropical notes, and a later harvest promotes the tropical notes at the expense of the wine characteristics.

The Research Collective has been experimenting with a novel harvest method called the Bliss Process that aims to capture all the tropical notes without sacrificing the bright citrus and white wine notes. This is only the second year of trials of these Nelson Bliss hops and we’re excited to have the opportunity to brew with them!
