Ben Ryé is an incredibly special dessert wine.- Made from 100% Muscat of Alexandria (locally known as Zibibbo) this wine has a golden color with bright amber reflections. A very intense bouquet consisting of fruity notes of apricot, yellow peach and candied orange peel, tropical notes of mango and papaya, followed by hints of Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth we find fruity notes and hints of aromatic herbs, combined with sweet nuances of honey. Intense and persistent, with an extraordinary balance between freshness and sweetness, Ben Ryè is a bewitching Passito di Pantelleria, among the most appreciated sweet wines in the world.
Passito di Pantelleriais a distinct style of sweet white wine produced on the Italian island (and DOC) of Pantelleria in the Mediterranean Sea.- “Passito” refers to the technique of drying, or raisining, berries on or off the vine. Pantelleria’s exceptionally hot, and generally dry, climate certainly favor this technique, which effectively concentrates sugars in the berries through dessication, a style further aided by the island’s sometimes strong winds that blow from the North African coast.
