It is a meticulous blend of Irish Grain Whiskey from multiple distilleries. Four and ten years old and ex-bourbon barrel aged, the result is a whiskey with rich, deep, bourbon-influenced notes – vanilla fudge and toasted coconut – on the nose, with zingy top notes of griddled pineapple and lime. A fresh start to the palate with green apples, backed by rye grass, leads to a bright finish too, with lemongrass and hints of salinity and minerality.
The Hanson, bottled at 46% abv and without any artificial colouring or chill-filtration, is perfect enjoyed by itself or in a refreshing cocktail.
