From The Official Website

Herbal and floral aromas accompany this mezcal, which has a medium body and finishes with a hint of saltiness thanks to its origin in the highlands of Zimatlan de Alvarez, at an elevation of 2,400 meters above sea level.

This initiative began in 2019 and is based on the origins of mezcal production in western Mexico, which was made feasible by a cultural fusion between the Filipino tribes who arrived with the conquest and the pre-Hispanic Indigenous people, according to historical sources. El Occidental aspires to recognize the technological diversity and traditions that have sprung from this serendipitous event. Focusing on the development of producers as a new origin in the commercialization of this agave spirit to new horizons. These three expressions from locations of artisanal production and strong mezcal history allowed for the exploration of diverse flavor profiles as well as a comparison of the agave species and the terroirs where they develop. Being the conduit through which the master producer hopes to expand in volume and establish a meaningful business in the mezcal sector.
