Introducing our newest white to the Sea Star portfolio, made in a cool climate Sauvigon Blanc style with coastal Petit Milo. Dry minerality is balanced with bright acidity and a lean, clean finish.
Cold, nutrient-rich water from deep below flows to the ocean’s surface around Pender Island inviting abundant and diverse marine life to thrive along its shores. This process of upwelling results in large part from the ‘Coriolis Effect,’ the influence of the Earth’s rotation on global wind patterns that drive the circulation of ocean currents. It also gives rise to global temperature regulation and local weather that creates the unique conditions that constitute our growing season each year. Our Coriolis wine reflects the cool, breezy nature of the West Coast, enhanced with soft fruit characters and a vibrant acidity.
The cookie star or c- eramaster patagonicus is a wide-ranging species found locally in deep, protected waters. Don’t let its small size and soft appearance fool you, this is one tough cookie! When threatened by its main predator, the Morning Sun Star, instead of escaping a Cookie Star will stand its ground and puff up its body. Scientists think the Cookie Star uses a chemical defense strategy, with a poison on its skin that keeps other sea stars from eating it.
