Aromatic Pinot Gris from the Hawkes Bay, perfectly ripened fruit is handled carefully to preserve the delicate aromas, fruit purity and freshness. Bush honey, nashi pear, stone fruits and loquat are complemented by subtle fermentation characters of honeysuckle, nectarine and lime.
Following fermentation, some time on yeast lees builds texture and length. The resulting fullness is lifted by crisp acidity that is in turn softened by a touch of residual sweetness – a harmonious balance. This is cool climate Pinot Gris at its best with many facets and shows that purists need not always be conformists.
