From The Producers
Indigenous World’s purpose is to produce spirits of the highest quality and distinction, so that every customer can appreciate the fruits of Canada’s indigenous Mother Earth, and to share with them some small part of the stories and culture of its indigenous peoples.
Founded in 2016 by Robert and Bernice Louie, all our spirits are handcrafted in small batches by Colin Wertz.
Our craft whiskey is made from the finest BC grown and malted barley. The spirit is distilled in one pass through our 500L Mueller hybrid pot still using the first 8 plates. The new make spirit is then transferred to ex-port and ex_x005F cognac barrels for aging. The barrels were stored in the distillery experiencing temperature fluctuation from 16° to 35°. This wide variation in temperature allowed for greater interaction with the wood helping to speed aging and imparting more flavour.
Non-chill filtered with no added color, the whiskey appears mahogany and arrives on the senses with sweet port wine aromas of sultanas, strawberries and baking spice, with hints of black pepper, vanilla and a whisp of smoke. Slated toffee, apricot and cereal appear on the palate, then transition into notes of smoked beef jerky with a long, lingering salt and pepper finish.
